April Hoskins


 

ALL ABOUT APRIL


April Hoskins was born in Three Rivers, MI. November 21, 1978, spending her childhood as a military brat living in such far flung locales as Kentucky and Hawaii.
April spent her late teenage years in Scotts and Sturgis Michigan, where she met the poet James Schwartz.
They embarked on a clubbing lifestyle, performing at the Kalamazoo MI. caberets and living with the famed drag performer Chelsea Del Ray.
They moved to to Sarasota, FL. before going their seperate ways: she to Jacksonville, FL. and he to Tallahassee, FL. and Michigan.
April's poetry has been featured online @ various websites, "Die Blatt" and "The Zoo Review" which she co-edited with Schwartz.

    In 2004 Hoskins made a 2 poem cameo appearance in "A James Schwartz Reader" by James Schwartz. An e-book of Hoskin's earlier poetry, titled "Hushed Words & Poisoned Pens:A Body of Work by P.W.   Hoskins marks her official literary debut with "True Spoken Lies" (official title: "Everything Redone / True Spoken Lies" by James Schwartz and April Hoskins) to be published late 2006.

I Saw Through: A Poem


There have been so many times
that I thought I was in love.
But I wasn't.
I saw through the sex and lust:
and realized it for what it was.
Most of my men have been mere toys.
Something to do when there was nothing good
on public access, and the clubs were dead


The Literary Life
April spent several summers with Schwartz in the MI. countryside and Sarasota, FL. writing poetry in between celebrating her celebrity at gay clubs.

Today

April now resides in Jacksonville along with her children Alexander + Rebbecca + her lover Bryan Stafford.
